SOCEX

BRIEF

SOCEX (The Serious & Organised Crime Exchange) is a national forum which helps bring the law-enforcement community together. Co-founded by our client ‘Altia Solutions’ and ‘Think Different Events,’ the first conference, historically, hosted three tiers of policing agencies – local, regional and national. We were delighted to be given the opportunity to create all the branding and communications for this new event.

SOLUTION

We wanted to emphasise the historic bringing together of three strands of law enforcement ‘into-alignment’ for the inaugural conference. We designed three circular network graphics of different sizes and combined them with an ‘X’ for ‘Exchange’ to form the main identity. ‘Exchange’ was chosen over ‘conference’ as a more accurate description of the type of event being hosted. The network graphic would become the main creative theme for all of the event communications. Co-Founders, Altia were also hosting the prestigious Keith Hughes Awards and a secondary identity was created for this too.

RESULT

The conference was a huge success. The loft created all marketing communications for SOCEX over the next five years.

“When Altia decided to develop and be the lead sponsor of the ‘SOCEX 2015’ conference and the 10th annual ‘Keith Hughes Awards,’ the loft worked closely with us, and the event management company, to produce the unique branding for each of the events. They delivered excellent work within tight deadlines and the results were commented on very favourably by many of the attendees. The branding is being used for the 2016 events and I have no hesitation in recommending the loft to deliver innovative and interesting designs.”

GLASGOW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

BRIEF

The summer of 2014 was a significant time for Glasgow, the city was celebrating the hosting of the Commonwealth Games, the Scottish Independence Referendum was a very live topic in the background and most significantly the city was going through a period of economic success. Success that was mirrored by the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.

We were delighted to be asked to create an infographic that would provide an ‘at-a-glance summary’ of these parallel success stories, the design would be featured as a centrepiece in ‘The Glasgow Business Magazine.’

SOLUTION

We created a visually striking piece of work, something that would entice a reader to want to learn more. The infographic was made up of skyscraper buildings showing the growth of the city. The tagline ‘Glasgow on the Rise’ was used.

Key statistics such as 4,250 people attending Chambers events, a 30% increase in mid-size company memberships and a 15% increase in Premium Partners were all highlighted to showcase individual success stories. Great efforts were made to ensure that there was an appropriate balance between visual drama and important information being communicated to the reader.

RESULT

“It was a real pleasure to work with the team at the loft. They understood the brief instantly and were able to execute the infographic perfectly. It’s resulted in a really impactful piece of creative which forms a centre fold to our bi-monthly magazine and has been very well received by our readership.”

Richard Muir, Deputy Chief Executive of The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce

ALTIA INFOGRAPHICS

BRIEF

Altia Solutions are a rapidly growing software company that helps investigators save time, increase productivity and improve the accuracy of their investigations. They serve customers nationally and internationally.

The company was looking for a graphical image, which their sales teams could use as an elevator pitch, when giving demonstrations of their software solutions. The final result would be used at trade shows, demos and by their team in conversation with existing and prospective clients.

SOLUTION

We begun with the Altia software sub-brands and made the decision to explode, extrude and transform them into three-dimensions.

Each image has complimentary 2D infographics that explain what the software does and the contrast of simple information with the drama of the exploded objects help to create a very bold, purposeful and useful series of reference images.

RESULT

“Altia have been working closely with the loft for several years and throughout they have listened to us and understood what we were looking for and then delivered excellent concepts and ideas. In that time they have delivered an updated branding for the company, new branding for new business streams and products, all the artwork for our brochures and marketing collateral and the branding and artwork for a major UK police conference that we sponsor. I am always confident that the loft team will come up with designs that are ready to use and often to tight deadlines.”

ALTIA SUB-BRANDS

BRIEF

Altia Solutions are a rapidly growing international software company based in Glasgow. They help investigators save time, increase productivity and improve the accuracy of their investigations.

We were delighted to be given the opportunity to help them create a new series of sub-brands for their four software products Toolkit, Toolbar, Insight and Digital Manager.

SOLUTION

We designed four sub-brands showcasing the products relationship with data – Transforming Data, Cleaning Data, Linking Data and Linking Police Data. Special patterns were created for each and integrated into the graphics to highlight the individual messages for the product.

We used bold colours to distinguish each of the sub-brand designs while the final versions were refined to function equally well on both digital and print platforms.

RESULT

“In developing the product branding, the loft talked with all the staff and came up with individual product brand designs that reflect the differing properties of the software yet are linked in their overall theme. We are very pleased with the result and proudly include them on all information sent out of the company.”

Ian Watson, Managing Director of Altia Solutions

FRIDGE ANGELS

BRIEF

Fridge Angels is a refrigeration and air-conditioning repair company based in Glasgow. The loft was tasked with creating a new brand and website that would make them stand out from their competitors.

It was important that they had a professional identity displaying a fresh, contemporary look as well as a strong digital presence.

SOLUTION

We worked closely with John McGrath, the Director of the company, who visited the studio on a regular basis to give his feedback. We wanted to create a brand that he would fall in love with himself.

With the design of the logo, we focused on taking the industrial aspect of the company and combining it with the gentleness of an angel. The ‘wings’ are softly curved, to represent ‘wrapping around a customer’ showing the importance of customer service to the company.

The bright colours are used to provide impact and help differentiate Fridge Angels from their competitors while the cartoon illustrations of the staff further reinforce the friendly, personal and fun nature of the company.

RESULT

An eye-catching, modern brand was created which embodies the lease of life Fridge Angels brings to the sector.

“The loft designed our branding and website. A really friendly bunch to work with and some of the most talented people I have ever met. We will be using them for all future projects. I would strongly recommend them to anybody.”

John McGrath, Chief Angel, Fridge Angels

SOLUTION

RESULT

The results are a brochure that vividly highlights the company’s key competitive advantages and is now in circulation worldwide.

MURPHY WEALTH

BRIEF

Murphy Wealth are a rapidly growing Wealth Management firm founded in Ayr, Scotland. To coincide with their 35th Anniversary and impending move to Glasgow, they commissioned the loft to build an entirely new brand and website. The main objectives were to increase the perceived value of the wealth management brand, build strategic partnerships with major Scottish legal firms and naturally to attract more clients.

SOLUTION

We worked closely with Murphy Wealth to create a brand strategy and then a wide range of communications. Transparency was seen as the most authentic and obvious theme for a new brand and was used throughout the entire process, it inspired the logo, icons and all areas of art direction. We also created an eye-catching website  built on a content management system, is fully responsive, and compatible with smartphones, tablets and desktops. One of the most significant objectives was the firm’s intention to move upmarket; the creation of ‘Process’ documents was used to demonstrate the true value of their wealth management service. We listed 36 individual sub-processes in the wealth management service, each of which helps to inform clients of the value of their work.

RESULT

The results of this project are clear for everybody to see, a much more sophisticated wealth management brand, a huge step forward in the company’s digital presence and the reaching of all of the company’s main objectives pre-project. We were delighted to be subsequently awarded the design and build of the website for their sister company – Murphy Insurance.

SPRINGBOARD MARKETING

BRIEF

Springboard Marketing are a company which provides intelligent sales solutions for their clients using a range of services including telemarketing and CRM System Management. They greatly increase the efficiency of sales teams. One of the biggest challenges faced by Springboard Marketing was persuading their client’s sales staff to use and record lead data to allow managers to better assess their pipelines.

SOLUTION

We worked closely with Springboard’s founder, Steven Sibbald, and one of their key clients to create a ‘board game infographic’ which would encourage sales staff to follow prescribed processes. We worked to ensure that the most important information was present in the final solution yet the game was simple enough to adopt. As part of the final solution, we had great fun creating individual avatars for some of the key people in the company.

RESULT

The final digital and printed versions of the board game infographic were widely used by a number of the sales staff of the client of Springboard Marketing. Job done!

“The loft did an outstanding job in assisting us with a very complex piece of work. They created an exceptional solution that was both creative and beautifully finished. Great team, good fun and brilliant designers.”

Steven Sibbald, Managing Director of Springboard Marketing
