The loft met Altia in 2013 when their company was just at the beginning of an exciting adventure – they had around 10-20 staff, a range of new solutions in development and an incoming Managing Director called Ian Watson. A leading provider of software for investigators in both the private and public sectors, Altia Solutions help their customers save time, increase productivity and improve the accuracy of their investigations. The company were selling four different products at that time and had big plans to grow.

Today, after a merger with ABM Intelligence, the newly named ‘Altia-ABM’ has between 50-100 staff, they have offices and customers all over the world and continue to grow rapidly with a five-fold increase in revenue in as many years. Throughout this time, the loft has helped the company with over 100 creative projects for each of the different brands of the group – these include Altia Solutions, ABM Intelligence, Altia-ABM, SOCEX and The Keith Hughes Awards.

Projects have included company re-brands, product identity designs, campaign support for sales teams, strategic advice, brochures, websites and countless smaller projects too. We’ve been to their Christmas Doo a couple of times, and they’ve been to ours as well. We continue to work, and very much enjoy working, with Altia-ABM today. We look forward to more exciting moments and hope our collaboration continues for a long time.

“The loft worked closely with the whole staff and developed a company rebranding that encapsulates the very being of the company. It was refreshing to be able to interact with all of the designers and have our ideas and thoughts taken seriously. A great experience!”

“Altia Solutions has been working closely with the loft for several years and throughout they have listened to us and understood what we were looking for and then delivered excellent concepts and ideas, any of which could be used. In that time they have delivered an updated brand for the company, new branding for new business streams and products, all the artwork for our brochures and marketing collateral and the branding and artwork for a major UK police conference that we sponsor. I am always confident that the loft team will come up with designs that are ready to use, often with tight deadlines.”

“When Altia decided to develop and be the lead sponsor of the ‘SOCEX’ conference and the annual ‘Keith Hughes Awards,’ the loft worked closely with us. They delivered excellent work within tight deadlines and the results were commented on very favourably by many of the attendees.”

Ian Watson, CEO of Altia-ABM.

“We’ve been collaborating with the loft for more than a year, and in that time I’ve been mightily impressed with their enthusiasm and desire to understand our business. An easy option would have been to deal with the initial job in isolation, complete it quickly, and move on to another but the loft team instantly saw the bigger picture and opted not for the quick and easy choice but the more challenging one. Long may our collaboration continue.”

Paul Miller, Responsible for Emerging Markets for Altia-ABM

“The loft helped us to create a new brand after our merger in 2016. They went to great lengths to talk to everybody in the company, they were always responsive to changes and both the identity and cultural aspects of the new brand have been a great help to us in re-positioning the organisation and getting our messages across. We very much enjoyed working with them, highly recommended.”

Petroleum Experts (PETEX) provide engineering solutions through a range of software products for the Oil & Gas sector. Their digital tools are used by production companies throughout the world and we were delighted to be the first creative company to work with them when being asked to design ‘a visual image that an engineer in Timbuktu could understand’ for their Digital Oil Field (DOF Suite).

We carried out an almost forensic level of investigation to properly understand what the ‘Digital Oil Field’ was and its value to customers. We uncovered the key message that it helps ‘companies better understand the commercial potential of their oil field asset’ and this discovery resulted in a range of different creative ideas.

The selected concept was based on the inside of a telescope with each lens providing ‘a clearer view’ of the oil field. The five lens in the visual represents the five layers of the software. ‘A Clearer View’ was adopted as the tagline and a secondary advert was produced for a ‘desert’ scene in addition to the original offshore image.

The client was delighted with the final results. One of the most satisfying elements of the collaboration were the glass paperweights, featuring the new advertising, and distributed at PETEX’s 25th Anniversary dinner.

“The team at the loft created an image that visually captured the remit we set — our business, our industry sector and a technology message — in a visually attractive way. Their team spent quality time with us to understand the spirit of what we wanted to be captured and then, through several iterations, came up with the final images which we are very satisfied with. These images are used in publications, product brochures and on our website”

‘Quality of life for people in today’s society is undoubtedly affected by their level of Digital Enablement.’ These were the words of Stuart Macdonald, Managing Director of Seric Systems.

‘Uploading a CV,’ ‘speaking to relatives on Skype’ or ‘purchasing products online’ are some of the many actions that are taken for granted by the majority of us.

Seric Systems, alongside their partners IBM were looking to address this problem by collaborating with a range of organisations from the private/public and third sectors to unleash ‘a virtuous cascade of volunteering’ to collectively help digitally enable a group of people that are uncomfortable with technology in today’s society.

We worked closely with Seric Systems and IBM to create an infographic. We were inspired by a Scotland where every citizen is digitally enabled and the final infographic is divided into a number of sections that highlight the nature of the problem and the steps that can be taken.

You can see the full infographic here.

The final visual has been produced in both digital and print formats and was used to lobby the Scottish Government to introduce a formal accreditation for people to be digitally enabled.

“I really like the loft, their understanding of the brief, level of creativity, and quality of work have all impressed me. They are also a good bunch and are very easy to work with.”

Stuart Macdonald, Managing Director of Seric Systems
