Altia Solutions are one of Scotland’s fastest growing software companies, providing productivity solutions to investigators nationally and internationally. The company were facing a challenge earlier this year; sales staff were being asked to deliver a wider and greater number of sales presentations. Each varying regarding location, time, and also content; in even quicker timescales. The company was also rapidly creating new features which needed to be present to existing customers.
Additional challenges for the sales team included having available and relevant information, easily accessible content, at-hand and in a presentable format at short notice. The company had made great strides with their revised web-presence and were now looking for a more bespoke tool that they could equip their sales staff with. One that would better enable them to present the company and its various products.
In close consultation with Altia Solutions, we made the decision that an iPad application would be the most suitable solution to their challenge. The new App would allow sales staff to make presentations ‘on-the-run’ and provide a ‘suitable portal’ for new content.
The first stages of the project were to pre-determine which content would be most relevant and appropriate for the new app. There was a lot of content available, and it was important that this information was provided to sales staff in the most easily presentable and user-friendly format available.
We took each of the various elements — images, graphics, text — and segmented each part to build a user-friendly experience. Creating an application that a sales person could easily use. Information was broken into a range of subsets.

Highlights included a timeline which takes the user through key milestones, presentation of key statistics about how the software saves time and increases productivity, a ‘how-to-buy’ section which takes users through the process of purchasing the software; which includes liaising with IT and procurement departments. The app was built by Consenso in Edinburgh.
The result is a mobile presentation unit which neatly and seamlessly allows Altia Solutions sales staff to make impromptu presentations on their iPads anytime, anywhere and without the requirement of Wi-Fi. The new App is simple, well-designed and filled to the brim with useful content.
There is a range of upgrades planned to allow the sharing of new content including video — and the evolution of a fully content-managed service which Altia will be able to use to even more frequently and easily share content.
